This TV (NU7100) was manufactured in 2018 and is relatively popular because of its affordable price. I have to mention in this Samsung 55NU7100 review that the clarity and resolution of the display a...Read More
The TCL 55S517 vs Samsung 55NU7100 testing demonstrates that these TVs, which were presented in the 2018 year, have different peculiarities, corresponding to the brand’s features. The first TV belongs to the S517 series, each part of which has Roku apps and edge LED backlighting. The second one device is a worthy representative of NU7100 series that is well-known due to the stylish slim design and HDR10 support. Samsung is more expensive than the TCL.
It’s a surprise for me that the TCL has much better native contrast ratio in comparison with the Samsung. At the same time, the 55NU7100 can boast with very natural and deep colors. The black stays black in any situation, while the 55S517 has non-adjustable dull colors. I make them brighter, but colors still look artificial.
The TCL has a poor-quality sound. It needs to install a sound bar to get the greater sound and volume. Samsung has a little bit more powerful speakers (16W versus 20W), but the whole sound impression is much better. The 55NU7100 doesn’t provide me with strange noise and crepitation, while the 55S517 has all these problems. I notice the TCL doesn’t have Vudu and Google Play but they are presented in Samsung, while the 55NU7100 isn’t supplemented by the YouTube that is regarded as the pre-installed app in the 55S517.
The Samsung 55NU7100 vs TCL 55S517 appearance checking-up shows both devices are equipped with stands, but the first model has higher and wide enough legs to fit a soundbar in front. The second one is supplemented by the narrower elements, under which it’s almost impossible to place something. I have to compare the device’s rare sides to see the 55S517 lacks any planning for cable management. The 55NU7100 has some cable management tracks, spanning the entire width of the TV’s back. Models are made of plastic, but I don’t have any complaints about their build quality.
The Samsung 55NU7100 is better TV in this comparison. Check Samsung 55NU7100 price
