Features & Performance

Both models have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, but after Marantz SR7011 vs Onkyo TX-RZ1100 comparing, it’s clearly visible that the first model has better signal reception. The Onkyo has signal interruptions and the device itself becomes very hot. The TX-RZ1100 pleases me with a three-zone capability that works perfectly. The SR7011 doesn’t have such a feature.

Connections & Setup

It is very interesting to review Onkyo TX-RZ1100 versus Marantz SR7011 and compare their number of inputs and outputs. The Onkyo has 3 optical digital inputs, while the Marantz only 2. The opposite situation is with HDMI outputs: the first device has 2, and the second one can boast with 3. It’s a great pleasure to see that both units have 8 HDMI inputs, but Onkyo has problems with 2 of them. Mentioned plugs refuse to work. 6 other perform their task seamlessly. There are no problems with Marantz’s inputs.

The setting process on both devices is easy and clear. All the steps are described on the screen.

Design

The Marantz has 15.8 x 17.3 x 7.3 inches, and the Onkyo – 17.8 x 17.1 x 7.9 inches. The second model has a very small display with a blue backlight, while the first one is supplemented by the full screen with bigger numbers and letters. The TX-RZ1100 has a deep-black color of corps and the SR7011 looks less aesthetic due to the dark-grey color predominance. The volume controller and input selector on the Marantz’s front side are placed at the top, while on Onkyo – in the lower part.

Onkyo TX-RZ1100 Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • It allows hearing all the whistles and bells. The sound detailing is at a high level.
  • It can be a great part of the Sonos Home Sound System. It upgrades the music streaming capability.
  • Pandora, Spotify, Tidal, and Deezer work without annoying pauses and problems.

Cons:

  • There are no XLR pre-outs.
  • The toroidal transformer is absent.

Marantz SR7011 Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Wireless streaming from iPhones works very well.
  • Lossless-compressed and 24-bit sound files sound amazing.
  • 3D and 4K Ultra HD/60Hz present a great picture.

Cons:

  • The music streaming services don’t work correctly via the HEOS app. They don’t want to perform their tasks and the app itself can shut up spontaneously.
  • The Netflix doesn’t work at all.
