Marantz SR 7011 is different from the previous Marantz model by having an added DTS:X and Dolby Atmos decoders. However, the most significant change is the latest version of HDMI that allows passing an Ultra HD 4K signal which makes it compatible with most current and even future smart TVs.

Modern black steel design with a display in the middle for your comfort, which is surrounded by volume on the right and input selector on the left. The best thing here is that there are no extra buttons on the front side - no need to think any more is it a power button or something else! Behind it has all input-output sockets needed, including a USB port and a micro-USB port for a phone compatibility. One of the best receiver in terms of the amount of featured presented. All specs above seems absolutely amazing, however, it is one thing that you should be aware of - this receiver does not have optical and coaxial digital outputs. It should not be a problem at all for an average user, however, if you find you need these features, it would be wise to choose another model.

The signal-to-noise ratio of Marantz SR7011 is noticeably low - 108 dB (NB lower the value, better the receiver is). Apart from it, this receiver is very reliable and also quite easy in use. HDMI pass-through up to 4K is more than enough for the next several years and complies perfectly with all smart TVs available. Also, quick responses to controllers and fast device recognition make this receiver one of the best on the market right now. Features like Apple airplay and auto-power off cast quickly and run smoothly without any trouble. Little display in the middle with a time on is clearly seen at any time even from several meters as expected from declared “deep color” inclusion.

Sound Quality

Producers should be proud of extreme sound quality they achieved! 9.2 channel Surround system with an effect of Dolby Surround can be felt no matter how far from the receiver you are, and DSP presented can be set at 4,6 and 8 Ohms depending on your needs (be aware though that the pre-set is 4). Audio D/A conversion happens at the rate of 32bit/192kHz which ensures quick and smooth sound all way through the work time.

Marantz SR7011 is one of few on the market available now that offers so much in terms of connectivity. It has 2 AV inputs, 2 coaxial and optical inputs, 8! HDMI inputs (therefore do not worry about adding the second amplifier to boost sound, even more, should be enough space for everything), 3 HDMI outputs, 2 subwoofer outputs, 1 USB port and yes, you can connect your phone to listen to music also! You can connect devices via WiFi and Bluetooth to listen to your favorite music without connecting the device physically, and also it handles IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u if you need it by any chance. Anyway, more is better than less, isn’t it?

Marantz SR7011 is definitely one of the best on the market available. It may seem quite pricey (average price is more than $1000), however just think of how much it offers to users. If you look for something that has both Internet radio, Network audio player, supports almost every single audio format and can turn itself off at the end - then you found the one! Also, it would be a perfect choice if you want to make a home cinema by having an extremely high-quality sound, Dolby features and lots of input channels.
