Features & Performance

The Marantz has an amazing movie voice quality because it is easy to understand dialog and hear all the words said in a whisper. Actually, the Yamaha has lower voice quality, the sound of the movie environment drowns out the words and it’s hard to hear character’s phrases.

The Marantz’s app allows me to change the volume and choose different source inputs. The Yamaha doesn’t have such a feature. The RX-A3070BL switch sources much quicker than SR6012 and feel a bit snappier.

Connections & Setup

The Marantz SR6012 versus Yamaha RX-A3070BL collation shows me that the first device has more detailed on-screen setting instruction. It describes all the steps by step and even wrongly made operations can be canceled and performed as they have to.

It isn’t hard to compare its process with Yamaha because the RX-A3070BL has less clear setup instruction. The on-screen manual is designed for the user, who has previously set up the receiver and knows about all the basic points. There are no explanatory details.

Yamaha has 3 optical and 3 coaxial digital inputs, while the Marantz has only 2 optical and 2 coaxial.

Design

I can barely see all the figures on the SR6012, while the RX-A3070BL has larger screen area and bigger inscriptions. The Marantz has only 4 legs, and the Yamaha is supplemented with 5 legs, which create the best conditions for device stability. The Yamaha RX-A3070BL vs Marantz SR6012 comparing shows, that the second model (15.3 x 17.3 x 6.3 inches) is much smaller than the first one (18.6 x 17.1 x 7.5 inches).

Marantz SR6012 Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Due to HEOS, I can easily manage the device for playing Internet radio.
  • The acoustic music sounds very natural and clear.

Cons:

  • The receiver becomes very hot because its box has small ventilation holes.
  • The Audyssey configurations can be changed only after a special app buying.

Yamaha RX-A3070BL Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • The streaming video via Apple TV 4k and Netflix has really great quality and the sound is moving around the room as it has to.
  • 40 preset FM/AM stations work without hindrances even in bad weather conditions.

Cons:
