True theater sounds to power great speakers and fills a large room, that’s what Marantz SR6012 vs Yamaha RX-A1070BL deliver. Setup and operation are pretty straightforward and performance is all you would need in the perfect receiver to ask for. Read the comparison below and choose what attracts you more.
Full-size receiver Marantz SR6012 adds two more channels of onboard amps versus Yamaha. Also, it has a 110 watts per channel. Yamaha has Digital Zone 2 conversion, this means that any input including HDMI sources can be available not only to its zone 2 output but to the HEOS ecosystem as well. The Audyssey system of both receivers moves up to multi EQ XT32, which provides even more points of control.
Marantz SR6012 has processing for 11 channels built-in, so if you add an additional power amp down the road you can create a maxed out 7.4.2 Dolby Atmos system. You can even reassign amp channels in the SR6012.
The sound of Yamaha RX-A1070BL is glorious. The Pure Direct mode is the best thing I’ve ever used. In comparison to Marantz Yamaha shuts off all extraneous circuitry to give a beautiful sound direct from source to the amplifier to the speaker. However, when listening to a movie through one of Yamaha’s digital modes like Sci-Fi, you can simulate the sound of a movie theatre quite well in a relatively small room. To compare Marantz with Yamaha the first one has the sound off the charts crystal clear. Not a hint of scratchiness anywhere.
Yamaha RX-A1070BL vs Marantz SR6012 is more minimalistic and not as bulky as were its previous models. Both have a big central panel with the main button. Marantz’s design is mate-panel, while Yamaha has transparent on. The remote controls of Yamaha RX-A1070BL and Marantz SR6012 are comfortable and ergonomic. The Yamaha engineers have done a fantastic job with designing this AV receiver.
