Marantz SR6012 vs Denon AVRX4400H

Marantz SR6012 vs Denon AVRX4400H – what will you choose?

Marantz SR6012 vs. Denon AVRX4400H

If you compare these two receivers, then Denon AVR-X4400H is more powerful, it has 125W per channel, while the Marantz has 110W. It should be noted that Marantz SR6012 has Eco mode with the setting of off/on/auto mode – saving energy without compromises in sound quality. The Marantz SR6012 does not overpower the sound, and this amplifier really balances the sound after adjusting appropriately. I compared it to Denon AVR-X4400H, which has a lot of power, but for some reason, this sound was warmer/fuller (better DACs used in Marantz than Denon).

Denon has a problem with the correct signal transmission 4K HDR 60 FPS. You need to have a TV capable of displaying it. And if we talk about Marantz, many buyers are disappointed that it breaks down in a couple of days. But most people are satisfied with these two receivers.

Marantz SR6012 – 9.2-channel network AV receiver

The SR6012 is a big step up versus the SR5012, thanks to nine channels with even more powerful amplifiers, with 11.2-channel processor processing – with preamp outputs, as well as enhanced installation capabilities, including compatibility with Crestron Connected.

The optional HDMI output allows you to play audio and video in the second zone, and simultaneously use two displays - for example, a TV and a projector – in the main room. The quality of the voice in the video is very clear (it is not entirely clear why, but it is easier to understand the dialogue).

Marantz SR6012 PROS:

  • HEOS simplifies controlling the receiver to play Internet radio and other stream sources.
  • The sound setting is quite simple and gives good results.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi with support for two bands 2.4GHz / 5GHz.

Marantz SR6012 CONS:

  • It tends to overheat.

Denon AVR-X4400H – superb sound quality

AV receiver Denon AVR-X4400H has a configuration of 9.2 and is equipped with decoders of all the latest formats of ambient sound. With nine built-in power amplification channels, the device allows you to build a home theater system for sounding a fairly large room at no extra cost.

Denon AVR-X4400H add extra bulk to records in conventional multi-channel standards. I've heard things in movies that I've never heard of before. The device has the latest network functionality with support for many online services, playback of files from available devices (PCM and DSD) and the ability of Wi-Fi connection. For full control over all functions of the device, you can use the Denon AVR Remote proprietary application.

Denon AVR-X4400H PROS:

  • The new DSP-processor AV-receiver, made by technology SHARK and proprietary multi-channel processor AL32, provide error-free processing of audio stream.
  • After the next firmware update, Alexa's voice control becomes available.
  • Equipped with the most modern acoustic measurement system Audyssey MultEQ XT32.

Denon AVR-X4400H CONS:

  • Actually does not support Bluetooth. If you connect a BT device and provide a connection, the receiver will automatically switch to the BT input.
