Connections & Setup

Both models support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection, which is also necessary for the HEOS technology and AirPlay. Marantz also has an AVR remote application that is used instead of a remote controller. This application is available for iOS and Android. If we compare the ports, we will see the difference - NR1069 has a phono input and two audio-only ports, while NR1068 has only 1 audio-only port and no phono input at all. The audio calibration is performed by the Audyssey technology (the microphone is included). The Audyssey includes several subsystems, like MuliEQ, Dynamic EQ, etc. Everything can be tweaked easily via an application with the user-friendly UI.

Design

These two models look almost the same. The first thing you notice is that how slim they are. Both have a simple LCD display, two knobs on both sides, an on/off button, buttons to select the source and input ports (USB, HDMI, Phones and setup mic). The buttons are quite wide so you will not press something accidentally. The remote controller is ergonomic. It has everything you need to control the receiver.
