The Denon AVRS940H vs Yamaha RX-V685BL collation shows that the first device (630W) has lower total output power than the second one has (650W). The Yamaha also is exceeded by Denon owing to some built-in decoders’ absence (DTS neural:X and Dolby Surround). Its sound doesn’t have the depth.
The Yamaha surprises me with very loud and crisp sound, while the Denon has a little bit muddy sound with superficial basses. The picture is almost the same on both devices because the quality can be scaled-up to 4K. The AVRS940H’s apps (Heos and AVR Remote) can switch the channels, change the volume, etc. I have to compare them with the RX-V685BL’s MusicCast app and find out the Denon’s superiority. I am pleasantly shocked by the AVRS940H’s dual-zone capability because it works as it has to. The Yamaha can’t present such a feature at all.
The Yamaha RX-V685BL vs Denon AVRS940H connector comparison demonstrates that the second device has more inputs and outputs, which work without problems. The Denon is augmented by 8 AV inputs, while the Yamaha with 7. The first model is supplemented by 5 HDMI inputs and another receiver is complemented with 8 HDMI inputs. Moreover, among the Yamaha’s 5 available HDMI inputs, only 3 can read information very quickly, others don’t respond to the connected device. Due to the YPAO automatic setup, the RX-V685BL pleases me with much easier setting process versus the Denon’s system, which has only the on-screen assistant. I have to perform all the operations manually.
Due to the display design and buttons location, the Denon AVRS940H looks very classical. It has a matte corps and silver controllers. The Yamaha RX-V685BL is regarded as a modern-looking device. Its top part is glossy, while the bottom part is matte. The buttons, inputs, and other plugs have unusual accommodation. The Denon’s remote controller looks standard and is lighter than Yamaha’s.
The Yamaha RX-V685BL is better receiver in this comparison. Check Yamaha RX-V685BL price
