Features & Performance

In order to compare Pioneer VSX-LX503 versus VSX-LX303, I have to mention that both of these receivers are able to produce 4K quality via HDMI and even 3D. VSX-LX303 also has the ASR technology, which increases the sound quality significantly. However, even despite the fact that the developers of VSX-LX503 didn’t add this technology, it still produces a pretty good sound. I didn’t mention any overheating problems.

Connections & Setup

It’s really great that these receivers support the Wi-Fi connection. However, there’s one problem, which you should know: the Internet connection of Pioneer VSX-LX303 isn’t stable enough. It interrupts from time to time and you have to reconnect the receiver to Wi-Fi. The Bluetooth connection works quite normal and this function provides great possibilities such as audio streaming.

In addition, the developers added the three-zone capability function. You can watch movies or listen to music in three different rooms simultaneously without losing the quality. The setup process is quite simple and comfortable. Just stick to the instructions and you will solve this problem within several minutes.

Design

The design of this receiver is not minimalistic at all because there are a lot of different buttons and regulators on the front side. I don’t really like it, but it’s quite comfortable. On the other hand, the remote controller of Pioneer VSX-LX303 is difficult to understand. There are a lot of buttons and it’s difficult to understand the meaning of each button. In addition, keep in mind that the weight of VSX-LX503 is 29 pounds.
