Features & Performance

The Onkyo TX-RZ830 has transparency and detailed sound, as well as excellent dynamics and a wide frequency range. The receiver uses AK4458 sound processors and VLSC technology, which eliminates impulse noises. The TX-RZ830`s amplifier design uses dynamic amplification (DAA) technology that provides high current and effective noise reduction.

Marantz SR7012 has the support of modern formats of 3D sound. The device has developed functional capabilities and provides excellent sound quality thanks to the 32-bit AKM processor and discrete HDAM modules with current feedback. The receiver brings 4K resolution and is able to scale even analog video to UHD.

Connections & Setup

Both receivers are equipped with a full range of network capabilities: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet. However, the RZ830 has a more powerful 2 band module.

Onkyo TX-RZ830 has a Chromacast module and DTS Play-Fi technology for streaming a high-quality audio. The receiver works with FlareConnect technology for wireless audio transmitting.

For the calibration of speakers connected to the Marantz SR7012, an effective Audyssey MultEQ XT32 system is used, but if we compare it with AccuEQ in Onkyo, that Audyssey does not eliminate standing waves in the listening area. An important feature of the Marantz SR7012 is the support of the HEOS multiroom wireless system, which transmits audio from its own libraries or streaming content.

Design

Onkyo TX-RZ830 has control buttons, an HDMI input, a headphone jack, and a microphone input hidden under an aluminum faceplate with a lid. On the rear panel, Onkyo delivered HDMI inputs with 4K / 60 Hz support. For the speakers, there are 11 pairs of screw terminals.

The front panel of the SR7012 is occupied by two large knobs, a display, and an opening panel with additional buttons. The rear wall of the receiver is fully occupied by analog and digital connectors.
