If to compare Onkyo TX-RZ720 versus Onkyo TX-RZ710 after I tested both I can say that both devices are fully featured, easy to use and are very high quality. Onkyo TX-RZ720 supports all modern formats, plays 4K video at 60 frames per second and supports Dolby Atmos. It has two very interesting features, such as Chromecast built-in and DTS play-fi, which allow you to broadcast any music on other devices.
But this receiver doesn’t have some important features like HDMI video conversion and scaling, 3D pass-through and others. Big sound to match big 4K screens is the slogan of Onkyo TX-RZ710. It has all the features of Onkyo TX-RZ720, but there are many improvements like AccuEQ feature which equalizes the surround-sound to suit the room acoustics for a crisply focused sound. Also, it has some features which TX-RZ720 hasn’t like HDMI conversion and scaling. But the price is the biggest disadvantage of TX-RZ710.
Comparing Onkyo TX-RZ720 vs TX-RZ710 in features and performance TX-RZ710 is an absolute winner because TX-RZ720 doesn’t have so many input technologies and because of many signal processing features which TX-RZ710 has, such as HDMI pass-through up to 4K and HDMI video conversion and scaling.
Comparing Onkyo TX-RZ710 vs TX-RZ720 in connections and setup I can say that both devices are easy to setup and have all the types of connections you need.
Both devices look modern but have the same metal black box design. And this is the problem because they look very big and may not fit in some places.
