Onkyo TX-NR676 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver

This is the model that seems perfect. Total harmonic distortion of a just 0.08 %, ability to connect devices wirelessly and A-B speaker switch make it worth looking at. I especially like Theater-Dimensional Virtual Surround sound that can be really felt when I stand on the floor!

Onkyo TX-NR676 PROS:

  • 106dB signal-to-noise ratio. Really clear sound performance, nothing to add, value speaks for itself.
  • Smartphone remote control. A big relief for me as I always forget where I put the controller this time.

Onkyo TX-NR676 CONS:

  • The only thing that gets me a bit upset is that audio conversion happens at 32bit/192kHz only, I would love it to be a bit faster than that like other models on the market now have..

Onkyo TX-NR757 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver

Onkyo TX-NR757 become my favorite one not just because of 3D pass-through feature and not for the dual zone capability. I truly believe that this is the receiver that I will be able to use for a long time due to its amplifier features that I find the most important in receivers. Analog to HDMI upconversion, 0.08 % harmonic distortion and high output power per channel make this receiver one of the best Onkyo’s I had so far.

Onkyo TX-NR757 PROS:

  • Has 8 HDMI inputs, you can be sure you will be able to connect everything that you need!
  • Audio D/A conversion at 32bit / 384kHz. Tracks are up rather fast and I don’t need to wait for ages and think if it going to be played at all.

Onkyo TX-NR757 CONS:

  • No mobile remote control. Got me quite upset as it takes additional time for me to find the actual controller and turn it on.
  • No auto power off, so you need always check if you actually turned it off or not.
