Having compared two solutions - Yamaha TSR-5810 vs Yamaha RX-V581 I would like to share my experience to help people choose the receiver that will meet their requirements.
If we compare the total power output of Yamaha TSR-5810 vs RX-V581 – we see TSR-5810 is more powerful with its 580 W versus 560 W that RX-V581 has. TSR-5810 supports the compressed music enhancer technology that restores the data from compressed music formats. This model also works with the Alexa Voice control feature. These receivers have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules so you can stream content from online services, or use the MusicCast technology (wireless speakers). Both models support AirPlay technology.
Both solutions support the multi-room technology – you can control the playback using a remote controller or the buttons located on the receivers.
Some customers experience certain issues with HDMI ports of RX-V581 – they get no signal at all, but it may be true for certain units only. Both models have 4 in and 1 out HDMI ports.
These models use YPAO technology to calibrate and control the output sound. This technology is quite precise and is easy to use – you also get a microphone required for the initial calibration. However, you can also tweak the settings using a special application. Usually, users do not have any troubles with that.
Both models look identical – they have a simple LCD display, a large knob, a power on/off button and 3 rows of buttons. The front panel also has extra ports. Both models come with remote controllers. The controllers are well-designed – the buttons are big enough and nice to press, the spacing between the buttons is enough to avoid pressing something accidentally.
