Denon AVRX3400H or Marantz SR5012 – The main Points of Choice

Features & Performance

The output power of Marantz SR5012 is so great that there is no need to turn on the volume at full-load. In addition, it has enough power to use the full 7.1 set of speakers. It has a very good sound on the mid range but lacking in the bass in comparison with Denon AVRX3400H’s deep low-frequency sound. However, the device produces a perfect sound in stereo that is not common for the AV receivers.

Denon AVRX3400H has 8 inputs that are more than enough to get the good quality picture and sound on all of them. There are a microphone and cardboard tripod to set up the speaker. The HEOS tech provides the amazing picture and sound. Its Bluetooth connection, unlike the Marantz SR5012’s one, could be better – the sound and picture are poor.

Connections & Setup

Marantz SR5012’s setup menu is not overly complicated and clear to the average user. The mobile app allows configuring the device. However, the volume adjustment can make one’s nervous. It takes 20 times to press the volume button on the remote control to hear the difference.

Before choosing – Denon AVRX3400H or Marantz SR5012 – take a note, that the first one has no analog to HDMI conversion that makes impossible to play XBox or Wii. However, Denon AVRX3400H’s HEOS app works without a hitch making all setups easy and fast.

Design

Marantz SR5012 looks like a high-end model despite the plastic front panel. However, the front panel display is very small to see the information without not a long going on. AVRX3400H looks classic and everything is clear on the display, though it is heavier and larger than SR5012.
