Yamaha RX-V683BL vs. Sony STRDN1080 - choose the best one

Yamaha RX-V683BL vs. Sony STRDN1080

Yamaha RX-V683BL 7.2-Channel MusicCast AV Receiver

This new Yamaha RX-V683BL really rocks. I like the fact that it can be set up via an Android APP on a smartphone. The auto setup was crazy easy and the external microphone worked great setting up the sound dynamics. Easiest electronic component I have ever set up. Plugged in all the components and I didn't even need to program it.

However, the receiver comparison between Sony STRDN1080 vs Yamaha RX-V683BL requires us to move to the next model.

Sony STRDN1080 7.2 Channel Dolby Atmos Home Theater AV Receiver

Works great, love the quality of audio and the 4k, have the unit hooked to a 4k Dolby vision TV. And computer going through it as well as a cable box. The computer detected Dolby Atmos immediately sounds so much better. Didn't need any special cables. Had to turn off the auto-detect feature. Caused some issues with the smart functions of the TV.

Yamaha RX-V683BL or Sony STRDN1080 - What is the best device for you

I have studied different forums and Amazon reviews to compare this two models and I have to mention that it is not easy to choose. Nevertheless, I hope this comparison chart will help you a lot.

The comparison of these models was not hard, but choosing the right model is quite difficult. Yamaha RX-V683BL has great compatibility (good built-in codecs), while Sony STRDN1080 has a high total power output (compare 1155 W that Sony has versus 610 W that Yamaha has).

Yamaha RX-V683BL has such features as deep color, bi-amplifying, controlling via smartphone, plus it is able to convert an analog signal into HDMI. Therefore, if you need a multifunctional device with great compatibility and the total power output is not that important for you, then consider buying Yamaha RX-V683BL. If you need more power than Sony STRDN1080 is right what you need.
