Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A1080 vs RX-A880 test proves that the units are hard to compare: they seem almost identical and equipped alike. In the AVENTAGE RX-A1080 versus RX-A880 battle, Yamaha RX-A880 presents more affordable cost and output power per channel, meanwhile, the AVENTAGE RX-A1080 offers Surround:AITM technology to optimize the sound in real-time.
The receivers support 4K video standard that let enjoy vivid and rich colors. The full immersion in sound effect and its stunning quality are achieved thanks to the DTS:X, Dolby Atmos, Dolby surrounds, and Dolby TrueHD technology provided by both devices.
Yamaha RX-A880, as well as Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A1080, is a 7.2-channel receiver that creates Virtual CINEMA surround sound effect. You really feel like you’re one of the movie characters or you are at the live concert of your favorite band.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work perfectly. They didn’t cause any problem at all during the test. There have really great networks capabilities that let you use AirPlay and Spotify services to listen to any audio content. MusicCast multi-room support allows listening to it at any spot of your home and performs its functions very well.
Multiple connectors cope with their functions fine. The plugs connections densely deploy in their nests so there are no troubles with them as well.
The receivers have a usual setup process. I can say that it is even intuitive and only takes a few minutes to get it exactly how you want. So the ease of setup is a great advantage.
Yamaha Company followed its classic style when designing these receivers. They traditionally have 2 large knobs on both front panel sides (one serves for input changing, the other ones serve for volume changing). The LCD display shows the most crucial information. The RX-A880 has a row of buttons right under the display, meanwhile, the AVENTAGE RX-A1080 has everything hidden behind the small panel. A big number of various ports are located on the back side and allow connecting multiple devices.
The Yamaha RX-A880 is better receiver in this comparison. Check Yamaha RX-A880 price
