Fluance is a Canadian brand that specializes in a high-end audio technique. It produces turntables pf premium quality using superior components and expert audio engineering. The company continues to release turntables with a unique design.
The RT81 goes in a high gloss walnut finish with an aluminum platter and rubber slip mat. The cabinet is made of a solid MDF, which provides more reliable dispersion of vibrations. The 13.8 x 16.5 x 5.5 size dimensions make the turntable portable.
The player's output connector is gold-plated, and inside there is also a phono stage, fortunately, with a shutdown option. The adjustment for the RPM is located on the bottom, making it hard to reach. In general, the device repeats the classical scheme for constructing a turntable of the 1978-1985 sample.
You can set up the RT81 in a traditional way. I’ve set it up both directly to the Phono input and a receiver using RCA cables and it did sound great in both of the cases. Or, you can switch on the built-in pre-amp and instead use an RCA to 3.5mm cable to connect it to the AUX input on a wireless speaker.
This Fluance RT81 review helps find out that this turntable has a lot of common features with more expansive ones. For example, a moving magnet cartridge is attached to an S-shaped aluminum tonearm with an advanced anti-roll system that adapts to each plate.
The Fluance RT81 provide 33.3 RPM speed two trimpots at the bottom of the turntable to regulate it. However, in my test, I did find that the speed is actually not quite as stable as I would like it to be.
The Fluance RT81 specs are traditional for a high precision vinyl player. The turntable reproduces conventional LP and EP vinyl records with decent quality, and also provides clear sound reproduction. Premium components allow this belt-driven player to create a completely uncompressed sound that recreates the performance, as the musician had intended.
Reading records occurs with impressive clarity and doesn’t harm the surface. The soundproofing legs, the aluminum plate, and the rubber mat greatly reduce reverberation, leaving a clear stereo sound.
