Design

The turntable goes only in black color and has gold-plated RCA outputs. The Pioneer PLX 1000 review reveals that the long fader of the pitch-shifter is complemented by a LED that shows the offset, as well as three buttons for more precise tempo adjustment.

Setup

The player's instruction is designed for quick installation, even if you are a beginner. In the Pioneer PLX-1000, there is a complete set necessary for DJing or for home use. It includes an aluminum platter, a slipmat, counterweights, a headcase with a detachable weight, an adapter, and a dust cover.

The kit, however, doesn’t include a phono stage, so you must use the external one, or connect the device directly to a mixer or amplifier that has a phono input. Also, cartridge and needle aren’t included.

Features

The uniqueness of the turntables lies in its multi-level tempo control. In addition to the standardly adjustable speed of ± 8%, you can also select a range of ± 16% or ± 50%. The reset button will instantly return to the original speed.

The Pioneer PLX 1000 specs guarantee the professional sound, as it includes all the innovative features: direct drive with quick start, pitch range switching, and decent assembly quality, as well as detachable cables. The basic features of this model include high torque quartz direct drive, S-shaped tonearm with the anti-skating option, and thick rubber insulation that provides precise control and position of the tonearm on the record.

The chassis of the player is made of zinc to prevent resonances and vibrations. The lower part of the block is reinforced with rubber and anti-vibration material at the base. The player has two speeds (33 1/3 and 45 turns) that can be selected by individual buttons at the bottom.

Conclusion

The Pioneer PLX-1000 is designed for work or leisure, for parties or home, and it is really easy to use. The high torque direct drive system provides stable rotation. Made of heavy-weight cast zinc, the PLX-1000 extends its structural strength. It is also include variable tempo controls with a wide range and output connections. Thanks to the ultra-sensitive dish and the RCA outputs, the player provides high-quality sound, optimized for mixing and scratching.

Unexpectedly, but the Pioneer PLX-1000 plays music with the same resolution, focus and balance as the Hi-Fi player. It is definitely able to compete with other vinyl players in the $700 price range.
