Music Hall MMF 2.2 – Belt Driven Turntable

Music Hall MMF 2.2

Music Hall MMF 2.2 specs include features and structural components that help it stand out among competitors in pricing policy. The stands of the Music Hall player MMF 2.2 have internal damping that performs a protective function against mechanical stress. The body is situated on three adjustable feet made of good quality material which absorbs abnormal noise.

Design

Stylish minimalistic monochromatic design, which will suit any interior design because of its classic black color.

The product has a lighter weight of 17.1 pounds, in comparison with the other similar products. However, it doesn’t influence the quality of the sound, as the aluminum platter is heavy enough to assure the perfect sounding.

Setup

During the setup of the Music Hall MMF 2.2 player, you must first unlock the engine mount, removing one pair of transport screws. Then set the drive belt, a counterweight to the arm, and the main drive. The Music Hall MMF 2.2 is shipped with a tonearm on which a pickup head is installed with a quality elliptical needle. The height of the tonearm is adjusted. If you want to change the head to the one that has a different height, then the tonearm has the ability to adjust the VTA with two screws at the base. The switching from 33.3 to 45 RPM is performed manually by removing the upper platter and using a special instrument that goes in the kit.

Features

Favorable features for clear tone even at high volume. Firstly, due to the considerable mass of the alloy aluminum diecast platter, a greater smoothness is achieved. Secondly, this model goes with a moving magnet (MM) tracker cartridge of high quality. Another feature which is also important are adjustable feet so you can level the turntable. The upgraded arm – just put this arm on the lawn and enjoy your favorite tunes.

Unfortunately, in this Music Hall MMF 2.2 review, I must state that the turntable goes without a phono preamp so you need to connect it to the intensifier with a phono preamp or use an external one.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, I would recommend the Music Hall MMF 2.2 to purchase as it fully copes with the responsibilities of quality vinyl record players. Combining the features which I have highlighted above, like the alloy platter, adjustable tonearm, possibility to switch from 33.3 to 45 RPM, this turntable is absolute leader that just sounds great.
