The CR704D-PA model from the Crosley brand is a 5-in-1 turntable that allows listening not only to vinyl but also provides an opportunity to switch on cassettes, CDs, radio, etc. It is difficult to call this item a simple turntable since it features many other functions hidden in one vintage-inspired wooden box.
According to Crosley CR704D-PA specs, it should look like a huge record player. However, this turntable looks like an old wooden music box which has been well-preserved for dozens of years and is sold as an antique piece today. Yet, this elegant hardwood cabinet is really misleading since it is packed with many modern functions. The platter with a tonearm is hidden under the wooden cover, while the front panel with several buttons, volume and tuning adjustment, CD player and a radio panel with Bluetooth receiver take you back to the distant 1920s. The cassette deck has been placed on the right side of the box, while Aux-in is located behind.
The installation process was fast and simple. The music box has arrived assembled, but there were many packing materials including a plastic bag for a radio, safety cover for A/C plug, Styrofoam, tie-wrap holding the tonearm, protective needle cover, etc. I removed all these materials, untied the cord and antenna wire, and connected it to the power source. The sound I heard was perfect, while the ease of assembly pleased me too.
Writing Crosley CR704D-PA review, it is impossible not to mention the main features of this 5-in-1 musician turntable.
Despite the fact that this music box can be hardly called portable (weighing 16.7 pounds), it produces a clear loud sound with little bass. Buying this entertainment center, you will get not only a turntable but also two additional players to listen to cassettes and CDs, and radio as well.
