Klipsch R-120SW vs SVS PB-1000: choose the perfect one

Actually, both subwoofers have much in common. But your preferences may outweigh in some aspects. I would recommend everybody to stop at Klipsch R-120SW model. Even at low settings, it vibrates my walls. The sound is clear and free of hiss compared to SVS PB-1000, but here you'll have a tight and precise bass. If you want a reasonably priced subwoofer to usher you into the reality of high fidelity sound, this is it.
The sound quality is top notch, but explosions and action scenes don't wow me, just like that I had with SVS. When looking for a great subwoofer, the sound is on top of my preferences. So think first what is essential for you when comparing SVS PB-1000 vs Klipsch R-120SW.

Talking about PB-1000 after listening to music, I decided to run a subwoofer test. This test ran a bunch of frequencies through the sub to test its response. When it started playing, it felt like someone was grabbing my head and shaking it. This sub can hit low and hit it hard what can't be said about R-120SW, it just sounds like a herd of elephants running through the room.
Design
Klipsch is surprisingly boomy for its size, most likely due to the port, versus the ported design of SVS that makes a huge difference. If you like to "feel" the LFE in your home theater, you won't be disappointed. Speaking of "huge," this thing is pretty big as well. The rubber feet are a nice touch on hard floors or carpet, and I like the way Klipsch R-120SW looks without the grille.
Klipsch R-120SW pros & cons
- The copper pins for the grille and the accents all over the subwoofer look excellent.
- Well packaged and easy to set up.
- Maybe a little bigger than you expected due to the incorrect vision of the subwoofer fitting in your room.
SVS PB-1000 pros & cons
- I know most audio people will say not to mix speaker brands, but once I got the levels balanced everything works together in perfect harmony and I cannot even remotely tell that there are two different brands of subs in the room.
- Fantastic customer service (from SVS), they look good and come well packaged.
- This thing can easily compete with 12-inch subwoofers, and it's tight and punchy, fitting in very well with my system.
- I have tried the PB-1000 but was a bit underwhelmed by its lack of intensity.
