Klipsch R-10SW vs Polk Audio PSW10

Polk audio psw10 vs Klipsch r-10sw - what is the best solution for you and why?

Klipsch R-10SW vs. Polk Audio PSW10

These two models have a great auto on/off feature so you do not need to bother turning a subwoofer on and off manually, which is great if you place it somewhere under your table. It may turn on automatically when you turn on a receiver or other device that transmits an audio signal to the subwoofer.

If we compare Klipsch r-10sw vs Polk psw10 we will still see some differences. One of the first ones you will notice is the amount of the power – 100 W Polk versus 300 W Klipsch. Nevertheless, even 100 W of dynamic power is great for small- and middle-sized rooms.

Klipsch R-10SW and Polk Audio PSW10

The main advantage of Polk Audio PSW10 is its quality. This model was built using the latest technologies to provide you with clear and precise sound. The main disadvantage of this model is that it does not have LFE input. Instead, use either the L or R Line input (another hookup option is to use a Y-split cable and connect both L and R Line inputs).

The main advantage of Klipsch R-10SW is its great dynamic power so you can use it even in large-rooms getting pure and rich bass. The main disadvantages of this model are that it comes with a manual that can be quite confusing and some customers claim that it is not powerful enough.

A good subwoofer is an important part of your audio setup. Of course, you should not forget about the good cables and content you are going to play.

If you need to choose between Polk Audio PSW10 and Klipsch R-10SW, then consider the following factors:

  • How large is your room? If it is not large, then Polk Audio PSW10 is a good option
  • Will you use the LFE input? If you will, then consider getting Klipsch R-10SW

Polk Audio PSW10 powered subwoofer

Fantastic, deep, thundering sound for my home theater system. Excellent response. It also adds the thrill of "being there" when I play first-person-shooters on the PS4 (COD: Ghosts is still my favorite!). It's actually a bit overpowered for what I am using it for, however, I just use the volume/power knob and turn it down until the bass matches the need (music vs. movie vs. gaming, etc). It is equipped with one 10-inch polymer composite dynamic-balance cone driver. It is built using the laser-based Klippel technology that guarantees great linearity with deep and pure sound.

Polk Audio PSW10 PROS:

  • It comes both with a speaker- and line-level inputs.
  • The subwoofer can turn itself on when the amplifier powers on.

Polk Audio PSW10 CONS:

  • No LFE input. Therefore, you use either the L or R line input.

Klipsch R-10SW –a powered subwoofer

The R-10SW is impressive. Tight, controlled bass but still able to blend into a set of bookshelves with 5.25" mid drivers. Able to easily fill a good sized room without needing to be cranked or distorting. Doesn't get hot. The power LED, while front facing isn't bright and not distracting at all - I know some reviewers made it sound like it's visible from the ISS.

Klipsch R-10SW PROS:

  • Line and LFE inputs guarantee great compatibility with receivers.
  • Levels and the crossover parameter are adjustable.
  • Auto on/off feature.

Klipsch R-10SW CONS:

  • The manual may be quite confusing.
  • Gain control is a bit tight.
  • Since it does not have inputs on the front panel, it has to be placed a bit far from walls.
