Features & Performance

Yamaha R-N602 vs Yamaha R-N303BL back

Yamaha R-N602 vs Yamaha R-N303BL performance comparison can't be held without looking at Sound features. Here we have an absolute identity by all the parameters:

  • Audio D/A converter - 24bit / 192kHz;
  • Surround sound effects - has not;
  • Surround system class - 2.0 channel.

As well, both units have Smartphone remote control, Auto power off but have no A-B speaker switch.

Connections & Setup

None of them have HDMI inputs, HDMI outputs, Optical digital outputs, Coaxial digital outputs. However, the N602 model has Subwoofer outputs and USB.

I can really underline the N602 setup and connection ability. Excellent stereo receiver with a touch of vintage in its looks and every possible connection available. Very easy to set up and control with free Yamaha MusicCast app from Android PlayMarket. If you are interested in listening to music more than watching films, this is the one to get.

Setup of the MusicCast app for N303BL (free for my LG Android smartphone) was equally annoying, but in the end, it all came together.

Design

To compare Yamaha R-N602 vs R-N303BL let's mention that the first receiver is very well-designed. Logical, easy to understand control panel, and I have to confess that I love having actual dials for the basic functions. Very high quality. Works great. Bluetooth and FM reception is excellent. The Bluetooth reception is vastly better than my previous add-on device.

What about his competitor, it is a high-power amp with discrete configuration, low-impedance design to minimize the length of the audio signal paths, and power supply placement that eliminates energy loss for true sound reproduction.

Yamaha R-N602

Pros:

  • Sound is outstanding.
  • Easy to link to Wi-Fi, airplay, and Bluetooth.
  • Internet radio is limitless.

Cons:

  • Bluetooth functionality is very problematic..
  • MusicCast App for android and iPhone works to control the system but is a bit cumbersome and not intuitive.

Yamaha R-N303BL

Pros:

  • The sound is very clear and powerful. In other words, just what you would expect & demand from Yamaha.

Cons:

  • The R-N303BL panel display is minimal, both in content, size, and brightness. I have 20/25 vision yet cannot read it sitting 15 feet away.
  • Front panel controls are also minimal.
  • The remote has 37 small buttons, none numeric, all labeled with even smaller print.
  • An additional 5-button bulls-eye directional control is centered among them.
