Denon AVRX4400H Customers Overview

Denon AVRX4400H

Denon AVRX4400H review is given to describe this upper mid-range b/c with all the high-end capability and power of a top range AVR. This receiver lacks the extra build quality on the chassis and heft of the upper range models. For most people, this will be more than sufficient.

Design

There’s a large and easy-to-read display which shows the source, the processing and which channels the receiver is outputting. Beneath this display is a drop-down flap, behind which you’ll find controls, an HDMI input, a USB port, a video input, and other important details. It looks suburb and fits any interior, which makes this receiver multifunctional.

Features

One of the Denon AVRX4400H specs that I don't like is the volume menu on the TV screen. It's a large bar with the "eco mode" displayed on it with the volume, even if an eco mode is off. It just takes up a room and distracts you when watching TV or a movie. The ability to tune/control dual subs really attracted my attention, if you purchase the Audyssey app you can also see the sound graphs and make additional tweaks to the sound.

Performance

Having an HDMI output for a Zone 2 TV is great, try to run 5.1 and Zone 2 & 3. Much improved GUI menus and de-complicated remote control are appreciated improvements. There are plenty of Alexa commands and you will need to spend more time on it.

Sound Quality

The whole room is filled with wonderful sound. The Audyssey speaker setup really improves the sound quality. It is much as you’d expect: a weighty, full-bodied sound with good timing and a better than the decent handle on dynamic range.

Connectivity

The modern setup/on-screen display is a huge leap forward and makes getting your surround sound system configured a breeze. The Denon is smart enough to automatically switch surround modes from Dolby to DTS, to Stereo, etc, and other embedded wireless features is a nice touch that I look forward to becoming familiar with over time. The two phone apps HEOS and AVR Remote seem sufficient and have not been buggy.

Setup

Almost foolproof Audyssey programming can help you in set-up - all you need do is attach the included microphone to its input beneath the flap on the X4400H’s facia and follow the on-screen instructions.

Conclusion

Quality product on affordable price, which is worth every penny. You will be amazed at its full sound capability and picture saturating. Audessey programming will lead you to step by step through painless setting up, and you will find yourself enjoying it as bust as you will buy it.
