The UN50RU7100FXZA is a 50-inch model from Samsung’s RU7100 series which, despite its budget-friendly price, provides a decent set of features, like PurColor, 4K UHD processor, HDR, etc. Plus, all the TVs from the series support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. They are also presented in a great variety of sizes: from 43-inch to 75-inch screens. In this Samsung UN50RU7100FXZA review, we will talk about the TV, released in the year of 2019.
The present model is a LED-lit LCD TV. It’s based on a solid 4K UHD processor that provides true 4K UHD picture quality and improves poor-quality content. It doesn’t support Dolby Vision, but, instead, it offers HDR10, HDR10 , and HLG support which create a truly vivid picture.
The PurColor technology provides dramatic contrast between dark and light colors. Among the other UN50RU7100FXZA specs, it’s also worth mentioning the UHD Dimming which is responsible for enhancing the color deepness making the dark colors darker and the bright colors brighter.
The TV will give you access to the most popular streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, etc.). It also supports AirPlay 2 so you can stream content from Apple devices. Additionally, the Universal Guide provides a simple on-screen guide so you can search for your favorite TV shows and movies with ease.
The Samsung UN50RU7100FXZA looks very simple: it has a half-inch plastic black frame around the display and stands on two V-shaped plastic legs. All the ports can be found on the right of the TV’s rear panel. There are three HDMI ports, two USB ports, antenna/cable connector, optical audio output, Ethernet port, component/composite video inputs, and VGA input. It’s good to know that you will also have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity options.
The TV is endowed with 20W stereo speakers. However, it’s impossible to find out about the sound quality that they are able to provide unless you resort to UN50RU7100FXZA review: in my test, they didn’t provide something impressive but still sounded decently. This way, I can assert that they can work well for basic usage.
Except for the UN50RU7100FXZA manual and power cord, in the box, you will also find One Remote: a universal remote control which gives the possibility to control not only the TV but also all the compatible devices. However, there is no pinhole microphone so it can’t provide a remote control feature. It also has quite old-school design and the buttons are quite small making it a bit confusing to use, you can accidentally push two buttons simultaneously
