Features & Performance

Klipsch Reference R-115SW is a powerful active subwoofer, made in the type of “bass reflex” with a front speaker. The rectangular phase inverter port is located on the front panel.

The R-115SW is equipped with a 381 mm-long low-frequency diffuser made of a polymer material with the addition of Cerametallic copper and a 400-watt Class D power amplifier. It can become a reliable partner for Reference Premiere speakers. Compare this sound with other models - you’ll be amazed.

On the rear panel of the Klipsch R-120SW, there are controls for signal level, filter tune frequency, and an absolute phase switch. The subwoofer has an automatic switch-on system when a signal appears at the input (linear or LFE connections are provided), as well as an LED indicator on the front panel. The subwoofer is equipped with damping supports, providing the necessary mechanical isolation from the floor surface.

Design

Comparing Klipsch R-115SW vs Klipsch R-120SW design, I should say that in addition to first-class technical characteristics, the Klipsch Reference R-115SW subwoofer has a strict exterior finish with Brushed Black textured vinyl, and its deepest basses combine with the relatively compact dimensions of the case.

However, the Klipsch R-120SW can be made less visible in the interior by simply leaving a removable safety net in place. The subwoofer is equipped with a die-cast graphite (IMG) diffuser and has high rigidity with low weight.

To increase the sound output versus other devices on the market, the speakers are equipped with a lightweight voice coil and a powerful magnet. The antiresonant cast chassis serves as reliable support for the bass player. The necessary acoustic load for the subwoofer is provided by the bass reflex, the outlet of which is located on the rear panel.
