Before you go on reading the Onkyo TX-RZ3100 review I have to be honest and to tell you that this receiver is indeed an amazing option for the whole family to enjoy. But this piece of hardware will cost you around $3000 regular retail price. Unless you find a pre-owned one in a good state.
The Onkyo TX-RZ3100 specs make it well worth the money and you will not regret the purchase. I just felt like I should warn you in advance so you know what to prepare yourself for. Other than that the receiver is amazing in everything.
The black chrome casing is a signature together with a rectangular black display and fluorescent green letters. The buttons although numerous are still very easy to navigate and the positioning is intuitive.
You have the Onkyo flagship Sonos Connect technology allowing you to enjoy the multi-room as well as many other wireless home theater benefits. The A-B speaker switch is another cool option present in the finer AV receivers.
The performance is amazing, you have lots of cool features like Pure Direct mode giving you an amazing sound quality as well as a remote control, Sonos smartphone and tablet app, multiroom and what not. Plus you have the Apple air-play as well.
You have the DTS-HD master audio, DTS neural:X, DTS:X, Dolby True HD, Dolby digital plus, and Dolby Atmos decoders for the ultimate audio experience. And overall 140 W per channel gives an amazing sound.
The overall connectivity is amazing although you might have to a firmware update in order to stream subscription-based online music services. You have AirPlay, Chromecast, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Internet radio and many others. Stream Spotify, Pandora, Tidal, Deeper, and many others.
The number of features and options might be a bit overwhelming but the apps and the programmed quick setup guide make it fairly easy for everyone to feel like an audio expert. You won’t have to fiddle with it for a long time as everything is pretty clear, straightforward and intuitive.
The manufacturer also took care to provide the users with a 3-year labor and parts warranty meaning that the quality is good and even if something happens you can have the issue fixed for free. Another great benefit is that the operational power consumption is only 340 W making this work of art efficient and Eco-friendly.
So if you have a few extra coins to spend I would definitely recommend it for bigger houses and families. Everyone will love it plus the Onkyo quality is always top notch.
