Design

The body of the Yamaha RX-A870BL is made of sheet metal. The front side of the receivers is stylized for brushed metal on the bottom, and on top is covered with a plastic transparent panel, behind which the display is located. The design of the case is made in a unique, concise and simple style.

Features

If we talk about Yamaha RX-A870BL specs — each channel is powered by 160 watts. It is compatible with Dolby Vision. It decodes both Dolby Atmos and DTS: X and includes up-samplers for legacy formats. Dolby Atmos is designed to create a more complete immersion into the world of home theater sounds, by analyzing the sound waves emitted by acoustic systems. 4K support is very good, and there are no problems with synchronization.

Performance

Yamaha RX-A870BL copes with the transmission of a clear and powerful signal, for which you need the appropriate speakers. This device supports a wide range of audio formats. We work with full-featured speakers, and this is a great combination. The sound is fantastic.

Sound Quality

This receiver definitely has the opportunity to play clear and loud with my speakers. This receiver has excellent sound and has the usual settings. I am very pleased with the sound from this receiver. Power for loudspeakers is enough for home use.

Connectivity

It has Wi-Fi (or Ethernet), the latest version of HDCP HDMI 2.2 and Dolby Atmos sound. This makes it easy to control HDR 4K signals and has more than enough HDMI inputs (7) and outputs (3; 2 primaries, 1 for zone 2), which should be sufficient even for the most complex home theater setup. There is also Airplay and Bluetooth.

Setup

It was easy to setup. The amazing abundance of ports. Calibration was quick and provided a good balance. Setup is intuitive and only takes a few minutes to get it exactly the way you want.

Conclusion

Yamaha RX-A870BL is the AV receiver of a new generation from the company Yamaha and is perfect for decorating any home theater. A set of built-in functions, excellent sound, excellent picture quality – such characteristics will not leave indifferent even an inveterate film fan.
