Sony XBR85X850D vs Sony XBR85X850F – make your choice

Before we are 2 TVs with a screen of 85 inches. The Sony X850F series is the mid-range model for the 2017 Sony 4K HDTV line, as well as the successor to the Sony X850D series – one of the best mid-range TVs for 2016. Sony XBR85X850F vs XBR85X850D – who will win? The Sony XBR85X850D can cost you more than $ 500, and the Sony XBR85X850F is much more expensive – $ 3,300.
Picture
Sony decided to focus on the brightness and image quality. If you compare the picture quality – both the Sony XBR85X850D and Sony XBR85X850F have an excellent picture. Sony traditionally offers an IPS display. In general, the image quality of both models is good. However, its performance when used in a dark scene is not as good as that of competitors with a VA panel.
Both models are supported by the modern 4K standard. Sony is supported by HDR technology. This is a new experience of watching movies with a more detailed image in the shadow or with the effect of sun highlighting. But, unfortunately, its HDR performance is still limited due to black level and peak brightness is not enough to fully display the contents of HDR 10. But it is still better than when it displays the contents of the SDR.
Of course, I liked the features more at the X850F. It is more modern versus X850D. It boasts its new 4K X Reality PRO technology, it adds realistic colors. In the Sony XBR85X850F, there are more interesting things - Dynamic Contrast Enhancer. This is another good feature of Sony that gives a more vibrant image with a clear contract.
Build Quality and Design
The design of models practically does not differ from a modern TV. The screen of these models is almost frameless with a matte metal stand. Stylish, thin and visually light. They look good on all sides. Both models are perfect for large rooms but I liked the design of Sony XBR85X850D. Frames on the edges of the screen are extremely thin, which creates an excellent impression of a large, clean display area.
